Marie Haga

Marie Haga has served as executive director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust since March 2013; she had previously been member and deputy chair of its executive board. She has held various positions in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affaires including as part of the Norwegian Mission to the United Nations in New York and the embassy in New Delhi. Marie has wide experience from politics and served as a member of Parliament in Norway from 2001-2009, as political advisor to the minister for development cooperation from 1997-1998, and as chairperson of the Centre Party from 2003- 2008. Additionally, Marie has served as minister of cultural affairs, minister of local government and regional development, and minister of petroleum and energy. Marie was also the director for renewable energy in the Federation of Norwegian Industries, and secretary general of the Norwegian Air Ambulance, the largest voluntary organization in Norway. Marie chaired the Governing Board of the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA), and the Governing Board of the Industrial Development Corporation of Norway, and she currently serves on the board of directors of the Regional Environmental Center (REC). Marie is also a published author, having penned a novel and two books on Norwegian politics. (Bonn, Germany)
