Steve Ells ’90 is Founder and CEO of Denver-based Chipotle Mexican Grill, which now has 200 locations across the United States. A 1990 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Mr. Ells found inspiration for Chipotle while cooking at San Francisco’s legendary Stars restaurant and frequenting the city’s Mission District taquerias. He believes that food can be both fast and of high quality, and is working to lead quick service to a new direction. Chipotle made headlines when it became the first quick service restaurant to use free-range meat, Chipotle’s carnitas feature sustainably farmed Niman Ranch pork. (Denver, CO)
