Kelly Buckley is vice president of restaurant platforms (Laredo Taco Company, Roost, Ladson Grill, Parlor Pizza, and other licensed QSRs) leading menu, restaurant operations, quality assurance, merchandising, and new restaurant growth with a goal of 3,000 restaurants by 2029. Prior to this role, Kelly was the vice president of fresh food where she was responsible for creating a team of foodservice professionals including food scientists, culinarians, nutritionists, and engineers along with a process and strategy that has elevated fresh foods at 7-Eleven. Before joining 7-Eleven in 2012, Kelly was the vice president of menu strategy and innovation for Applebee’s International, Inc. Kelly worked for Yum! Brands for 14 years beginning in Canada leading product development and quality assurance for Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell.She then relocated to Dallas to lead innovation for Pizza Hut International and finally moved to the U.S. Pizza Hut innovation team where she progressed to be the chief food innovation officer. Previously, Kelly was the national R&D and QA manager for Burger King Restaurants of Canada. Kelly holds a honors bachelor of science degree in microbiology & food science from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. Kelly has been a member of the Research Chefs Association and has held board and committee positions with the Canadian Restaurant & Hospitality Association and Canadian Research Institute for Food Safety; participated in the Women’s Foodservice Forum, Network of Executive Women; and is a fellow of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
