Alex Heilman ‘05 is a food and agricultural markets specialist with a breadth of experience spanning the food and agriculture value chain—from cooking at Eleven Madison Park to trading and merchandising agricultural commodities. Before co-founding Mad Markets, Alex served as Director of Sales at Mercaris, a Price Reporting Agency specializing in organic and non-GMO commodity markets. Earlier in his career, he worked in commodity sales and merchandising at Miller Milling Company. He began his career cooking in restaurants across NYC and San Francisco. Alex holds an A.O.S. in Pastry Arts from The Culinary Institute of America, a B.S. in Food Systems & Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and an MBA from INSEAD.
