Catherine Brown is currently a Regional Local Food Project Coordinator for the Maine Department of Education, Child Nutrition, covering the Western and Mid-coast regions. In this role, she is instrumental in facilitating relationships between Maine farmers, fishers, value-added producers, distributors, and K-12 school nutrition staff to increase local food procurement and scratch cooking in school meals. Locally, she also serves as the Food Access and Info Booth Manager for the Bethel Farmers Market.
A 2024 James Beard National Scholar, Catherine is a candidate in the Master’s in Sustainable Food Systems program at the Culinary Institute of America. She is scheduled to graduate in August 2026. (Upton, ME) linkedin.com/catherine-brown
