Christa Barfield

Christa Barfield, widely known as FarmerJawn, is the founder and CEO of FarmerJawn Agriculture, one of the largest Black-owned regenerative produce farms in the United States. Based in Pennsylvania, her work integrates regenerative organic practices, public health, and community economic development. Christa has built a multi-faceted ecosystem that includes farming, retail markets, education programs, and food innovation initiatives designed to increase access to nutrient-dense food while restoring land and community health.

A James Beard Award recipient, Christa has spoken at the White House and works with national organizations advancing agriculture research and food systems change. Her work centers on the belief that soil reform is one of the most powerful tools for healing environmental, physical, and social health.
