Irene Shiang Li

Irene Shiang Li (she/her) co-founded Mei Mei in Boston in 2013 and built the brand around sustainable sourcing and progressive employment practices. She is now the CEO of Prepshift, a consulting and technical assistance firm that works directly with restaurants, and partners with government and private entities. Prepshift’s mission is to use financial literacy to ensure a bright future for independent food businesses, allowing operators to afford to live their values. Irene is a 2022 James Beard Foundation Leadership Award winner and serves on the boards of Project Bread, The Food Project, and the Independent Restaurant Coalition. (Boston, MA)
