Wazeer Zulfikar is a PhD researcher at the MIT Media Lab, drawing on AI, neuroscience, and human-computer interaction to shape how future technology can extend human memory and cognition. His research centers on wearable AI personal assistants, including Memoro, a real-time memory augmentation system recognized by Fast Company's 2024 World Changing Ideas Awards, and MemPal, a voice-based assistant for aging populations. More broadly, his work explores how AI can support mental well-being and accessibility across diverse contexts. During his PhD, he has also worked across machine learning and design teams at Google DeepMind and Samsung. He has published at venues including CHI, IUI, NeurIPS, AAAI, and ACL, and holds five patents spanning wearables, machine learning, and computer vision. He holds a degree from BITS Pilani, Goa.
